Restoring Culverts In A Rainforest Area

Three culverts located in a high rainfall rainforest area in Far North Queensland were requiring correction. Our method was by far the most cost-effective way to fix the problems, as the alternative of closing the roads and replacing the culverts would have been far too costly. Key issues were not to cause any impact on the pristine environment, to ensure road support, while causing the least possible interruption to traffic.

Sealing and re-align the culverts to ensure their correct operation and re-supporting the road without environmental impact.

Working inside the slippery, wet pipes, our team correctly re-aligned the culverts, sealed the joints and filled 10m3 of voids. The culverts were re-aligned and re-supported. The roadway was re-supported. No material escaped into the environment.
