Mainmark congratulates Dr Alan Jeary on becoming a fellow of the Royal Society of NSW
Last year, Mainmark was proud to exclusively introduce STRAAM, a world-leading structural monitoring technology developed by industry pioneer Dr Alan Jeary AO.
In Australia again this month to share his vast knowledge and expertise with the local structural engineering and building communities, Dr Jeary has been recognised for his work in structural dynamics by being officially inducted as a fellow of the Royal Society of NSW.
The highly respected society traces its origin to the Philosophical Society of Australasia, founded in Sydney in 1821, and is the oldest learned society in the Southern Hemisphere. Dr Jeary has more than 40 years of innovation and experience in the area of structural performance monitoring and analysis, and is a world-recognised authority on instrumenting full-scale structures to study their dynamic characteristics. Alan was unanimously elected to the fellowship by the Society’s members, recognising him as an accomplished leader in his field, and now adds the post-nominal FRSN to his already distinguished title. Our sincere congratulations on this significant achievement!
Measuring the unique dynamic signature, or ‘heartbeat’, of above-ground structures was also a topic at this week’s ACSE Pub Seminar Series, where Dr Jeary spoke as part of Mainmark’s new sponsorship of the Association. It was great to see the nearly 100 structural engineers who registered to hear Alan and ask questions after the presentation. From the discussions, it’s clear that Sydney has a lot of use for STRAAM technology as the city continues to undergo major construction, tunnelling and public infrastructure works.
STRAAM (which stands for Structural Risk Assessment and Management) helps to pinpoint structural damage and risk in real-time. To learn more about this exciting technology visit: https://mainmark.com/products/straam/
