Mainmark’s ground engineering and asset preservation solutions are designed to re-support or rehabilitate civil infrastructure to enhance the safety and stability of ports, rail, roads, and other public infrastructure.

As roads, railways and port infrastructure ages, it becomes more susceptible to damage caused by the increasingly heavier loads of cars, trucks, trams and trains.

Repeated and intense mechanical vibrations, coupled with heavy rains or poor drainage, can weaken the ground under transport corridors, leading to possible subsidence and underlying voids. The resulting unevenness of road surfaces, railway lines and runways can present serious operational safety hazards. Mainmark raises, re-supports and rehabilitates damaged infrastructure. We also conduct abandonment of below ground infrastructure and voids. Works are undertaken cost-effectively while working around transport operations to minimise downtime.

Teretek® Stabilises Concrete Roadway at the City of Canada Bay

The City of Canada experienced concrete slabs suffering from various levels of deterioration; some were breaking up and needed to be removed and replaced, others required the voids that had formed underneath them to be filled to re-support the roadway and the slab joints sealed to reduce water ingress and water ponding. Mainmark’s proprietary Teretek resin injection solution was identified as an ideal option to help improve the lifespan of the pavement slabs.

Working closely with Nexus Delivery and Roundel Civil Projects Pty Ltd to remedy, Mainmark drew on its breadth of infrastructure and asset remediation experience, to propose a number of installation and grouting solutions to facilitate the relining of the redundant culverts and restore structural integrity quickly and efficiently.

Kaimai Tunnel Rail Slab Re-levelled and Bonded

During the 2018 Kaimai Tunnel upgrade, Mainmark was commissioned to use Teretek® resin injection technology to fill large voids that had formed beneath the railway slabs. TamPur, a specially formulated grout, was then used to bond the subgrade and cracked base slab and re-support the PaCT slab. Through early intervention, KiwiRail has been able to work with Mainmark to deliver a solution to prevent extensive damage to the tunnel floor which may have resulted in tunnel closure and a costly slab replacement.
