The problem
3,500 linear metres of de-commissioned council-owned waste-water lines beneath the township of Huapai near Auckland needed to be filled as a compliance and safety issue to remove the potential of collapse in the future.
Mainmark was able to fill the entire pipeline completely in five days economically and with minimal interruption to traffic and the activities of the residents.
The solution
The aims were to completely fill the pipeline, rendering it safe, and to do this economically, rapidly and with the least possible interruption to traffic and residents in this busy township to the north-west of Auckland.
The Result
Benefil amino-plastic expanding foam filler-grout was injected throughout the entire ND 150 pipeline network, access being through manholes at varying depths of up to 3m below ground.
The benefil was able to be injected easily into pipelines running both up-hill and down-hill from the injection points, which greatly facilitated rapid complete filling. The entire waste-water pipeline was filled 100% in 5 days with no excavation, access being via existing manholes. There was absolutely minimal disruption to traffic and to the residents of Huapai.
