Frits’ collaborative approach to business empowers senior management, stakeholders, and employees to find solutions. Frits has a diverse and experienced background in executive leadership and has held key positions, including Chairman, CEO, and Managing Director, contributing significantly to the success of various organisations. He has a keen understanding of business dynamics and a proven ability to drive growth and innovation accumulated over his career in financial, manufacturing, mining and professional services. As Managing Director, Frits’ strategic acumen ensures that the global organisation remains at the forefront of the industry with continued success.

Tom brings a depth of knowledge of the civil engineering industry and a practical understanding of the challenges faced in ground engineering to deliver the best results for Mainmark’s clients. After the completion of his BSc Civil and Construction Engineering degree from Curtin University in Perth, Tom went on to hold a range of roles from project management for a small family-owned engineering firm as a specialist in tunnelling to consulting on a range of major projects. These projects included Thames Tideway and Crossrail as well as international projects in Kenya, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan. Tom moved to the UK in 2008 becoming Chairman of the British Tunnelling Society Young Members, sharing his passion for excellence in geotechnical performance. He has worked in the UK and internationally in Australia, Africa and Asia. Tom joined Mainmark in 2022 as General Manager to head up the UK operation and deliver the same market-leading solutions here that have been proven in Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to his tenure at Mainmark, Andrew successfully operated his own business for three years, showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen. During the preceding decades, he held the position of Operations Manager, effectively managing multiple sites and leading diverse teams of personnel. Andrew’s expertise in this capacity included streamlining operations, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of collaboration and performance excellence. He joined Mainmark in March 2023, assuming the pivotal role of Transport Manager and subsequently advancing to the position of Operations Manager in July. Andrew holds a professional CPC qualification in Road Haulage and Transport, a testament to his dedication to upholding industry standards and regulations. Over a span of 30 years, he has amassed invaluable experience in operational, fleet, and facilities roles, overseeing sizable fleets of up to 4500 vehicles and managing extensive office, factory, and warehouse spaces. This background has equipped him with a deep understanding of logistics, safety protocols, and the intricacies of large-scale operations.

Drawing upon an extensive background across three continents in diverse industries such as Oil & Gas, Warehousing & Logistics, Motor Vehicle, and Construction, she has acquired valuable expertise and a profound understanding of health, safety, and wellbeing. With a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering specialising in Geology and Geotechnics, alongside an ILM Distinction in Business Operations and Departmental Management, Oana’s knowledge and perspectives significantly augment her role. Her proficiency aligns with promoting a safety-centric culture within the organisation and fostering continuous safety-oriented organisational development. Oana effectively communicates and advocates that employee safety stands as a paramount priority for the organisation.

Graduated from University of South Australia in Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting), Sara has worked with companies of various backgrounds and amongst them were one of the big four accounting firms and a public listed company in Malaysia which she headed the corporate department prior to Mainmark. Her involvement with finance and accounting spreads around Southeast Asia and UK. Sara oversees all areas of finance and administration including payroll, accounts payable and receivables, cash management, general ledger, inventory and banking. Providing strategic analysis for senior management to determine project and company profitability, prepare financial reporting and budget monitoring. She maintains company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with small business regulations, etc. She also serves as the focal point for human resources management and liaise with public accounting firm, payroll service and financial institution.

Chris is a seasoned marketing professional with an extensive 15-year track record in diverse marketing roles, primarily within the B2B sector. Armed with a Master of Business Administration and a prestigious CIM Diploma, Chris is a qualified marketing expert with a keen eye for detail and a comprehensive understanding of the entire marketing spectrum. Throughout the span of a successful career, Chris has honed expertise in various key areas, including digital campaigns, brand development, CRM systems, strategy formulation, customer relationship management, and adept project management. This diverse skill set has enabled Chris to drive impactful marketing initiatives, foster client engagement, and consistently contribute to the growth and success of organisations within the B2B domain.

As an Infrastructure lead at Mainmark, David plays a pivotal role in overseeing and executing complex projects that involve stabilising foundations, rectifying ground subsidence, and preserving critical infrastructure. His technical expertise, coupled with his strategic mindset, allows him to approach challenges with a unique perspective, finding innovative solutions that exceed client expectations. Beyond his technical prowess, David is deeply passionate about sustainability and environmental responsibility. He embraces Mainmark’s vision of reducing the carbon footprint of construction and actively seeks eco-friendly solutions that align with the company’s values. His focus on sustainable practices ensures that Mainmark’s projects contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future. David Hedley is a driving force behind Mainmark’s success and the company’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and customer satisfaction. Hossein’s unwavering passion for geotechnical engineering is evident in his diverse skill set and extensive experience across various disciplines within the field. He graduated with honours, achieving a 2:1 degree in Civil Engineering from the University of South Wales in 1986. Subsequently, in 1988, he completed his MSc in Structural Engineering at Cardiff University. During his tenure as a Research Assistant at UWE Bristol, he pursued his Ph.D. on a part-time basis, making significant contributions to a global research program that focused on characterising the behaviour of Bothkennar soft soil. Throughout the past 25 years, Hossein has played a pivotal role in technical sales within the Civil Engineering sector, with a strong emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering. His expertise spans various domains, encompassing advanced geotechnical testing equipment such as Resonant Column and Hollow Cylinder, Instrumentation and Monitoring, Piling, and anchoring. Hossein is enthusiastic about leveraging his extensive geotechnical knowledge to propel the growth of Mainmark UK’s business in the future.

Angelina’s journey in engineering began with a bachelor’s degree with honours in Engineering Geology and Geotechnics BEng (Hons), where she developed a solid foundation (pardon the pun) in the principles of ground engineering before working in industry as a Geotechnical Engineer. Her insatiable curiosity and passion for problem-solving led her to pursue a career with Mainmark to further specialise in the complex realm of ground improvement techniques. Angelina quickly impressed her colleagues and clients with her exceptional technical skills and innovative thinking. Mainmark, a leading global provider of ground engineering and asset preservation solutions, recognised her potential and appointed her to key projects. She actively participates in outreach programs, attending and speaking at events to inspire the next generation of engineers and foster a more inclusive and diverse industry. She is a Fellow of the Geological Society (FGS) and a member of the Geological Discussion Group.

Proficient in crucial areas such as procurement, construction, management, contract negotiation, and contract management, Sean exemplifies a well-rounded skill set that empowers him to excel in the sales domain. This proficiency is underpinned by a strong commitment to delivering results and driving business growth. Throughout his career, Sean has consistently showcased the ability to navigate the industry’s intricacies, adapting to its evolving landscape and achieving exceptional outcomes. He approaches sales with determination and expertise, building lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and foster long-term business success.

Paul, with extensive experience in the construction industry spanning numerous years, embarked on his career journey with a humble start at a supermarket, where he discovered a passion for engaging with customers face-to-face. This early experience solidified his ambition to work in customer-centric environments. Having garnered invaluable expertise through site surveys, construction hire, and resin injection, Paul’s technical acumen and innovative thinking were recognized. Mainmark, recognizing his ability to establish rapport with clients and apply a creative, technically minded approach to problem-solving, headhunted him for the role of a Technical Sales Engineer.

Paul’s journey with Mainmark commenced in 2014 when he joined Mainmark New Zealand, marking the beginning of a fruitful expedition within the construction sector. In 2016, Paul transitioned his expertise to Mainmark UK, embarking on a new chapter in his career. Demonstrating exceptional dedication and prowess, he steadily progressed through the ranks, starting as a supervisor in New Zealand and eventually ascending to the esteemed position of Technical Sales Engineer. This rise speaks volumes about his commitment and industry knowledge abilities.
